an example of wrong sum by open office calc

Thank you for reporting this bug. I have tested it with OO.o 2.3.0 on my hardy and got the correct result.

Can you be more specific how that happens? Is (3) what is correct and (4) what is incorrect? I can't reproduce that on hardy, w/ OOo 2.4

The answer in 3) is correct the answer in 4) seems to be a rounding error. I do not see this problem in Ubuntu 8.04 either. Can you reproduce this problem on current version of Ubuntu?

I checked in 2.4, the results are really different. However, the C6 cell contains really -996.295, but in the display it is rounded to 996.3. The counterpart in A6 contains 996.3 exactly, which explains different results, which are both correct.

(milardi: please don't write e-mails to subscribers directly, use bugs.launchpad.net interface so that your message is archived and appears in the bugreport properly and others can see it. Besides, it is annoying to have such things in regular mails.)
