xfce4-panel make active panel opaque

Bug Description

If you customize your panel (e.g. panel 1), and set a transparency level (say 50%), and also check the Make active panel opaque option. The behaviour is not as supposed: when you click on the panel, it doesn't become opaque, and probably only becomes opaque after you clicked on the "Applications" menu or maybe some other items. Then once it becomes opaque, it won't change back to transparency even after the panel becomes inactive.

I can't reproduce this in Ubuntu Hardy. If I mouse over the panel, the panel becomes opaque. If I take the mouse off the panel, it becomes transparent again.

What version of Xubuntu are you running?

I am using Hardy with compiz-fusion + emerald, with Mac4Lin themes.
Not sure if the combination caused this dysfunction.
Anybody else can reproduce it?

I can't find the option to change the transparency of panels. Where is it?

Right click on the panel, in the popup menu, there is an option says:
Customize Panel. Choose it and a dialog will show up giving you the
transparency option.

Vaccines do have adverse reactions and they could
be very severe. I have dug out some materials and
hope you find them informative.

The February 1981 issue of the Journal of the American Medical
Association found that 90% of obstetricians and 66% of pediatricians
refused to take the rubella vaccine.

Another related fact: 1 in 6 kids in USA have
neurological problems, and some vaccines contain
levels of neurological toxins (mercury, aluminium,
etc) too high even for adults!

Think it through for yourself...and make informed
decisions. The good news is: it is completely
LEGAL not to vaccinate your baby.

Pablo: You must be using a compositor (either compiz or turn on the compositor in xfce4).

Still not reproducible with Xfce 4.6 on my machine. Is someone still affected by this issue? Thanks!

It was quite awhile ago -- I think it happens when you are using Hardy with
compiz-fusion + emerald --- maybe there are other complications, I don't
know. Anyway, if you stop using compiz , that bug disappears -- like what I
am doing now.

Thanks for caring about this, open source really surprised me.

Ok, this was probably not a panel issue. Anyway, please reopen it if it is reproducible with more recent versions of xfce4-panel and compiz-fusion/emerald. Thanks.
