Unable to enter a Birth date (Contacts)

Bug Description

In the Web interface I can't enter any Birth date. Every time I'm trying to enter a date, it displays "Enter a valid Date". I used the Format "DD.MM.YYYY" but I also tried "MM.DD.YYYY". After this, all birth days I entered with Evolution are lost/deleted after being synced with Ubuntu One.

hmm, I think it expects DD/MM/YYYY, can you try that, please?

It accepts "MM/DD/YYYY" and "YYYY-MM-DD"! ("DD/MM/YYYY" isn't accepted)
But it still remains, that all birth days which I enter with Evolution will be deleted, as soon as I sync them with ubuntu one. Perhaps because there the format is "DD.MM.YYYY"? (I'm using the German version of Evolution, perhaps because of this...?)

You are right, currently the accepted formats are "MM/DD/YYYY" and "YYYY-MM-DD", "DD/MM/YYYY" is not accepted.

The problem with accepting both "MM/DD/YYYY" and "DD/MM/YYYY" is that there is ambiguity. How will a date like 02/03/2001 be interpreted: March 2 or February 3?

The web interface is not localized, so the formats are the one of the English language (the former), and the ISO one (the latter), because there is no ambiguity between them.

I'll try to replicate your problem, stay tuned.
