Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-mono

The Banshee monochrome icon from the humanity-icon-theme is an improvement, but still does not seem consistent with the new mono icons. A matching icon for the set would be nice.

This is not a duplicate. Banshee monochrome icon is from the humanity-icon-theme and I am addressing the ubuntu-mono icons, which is a different icon set that inherits humanity if the panel icon is not in the set.

James, the problem is not that the icon doesn't exist but rather that banshee needs to add the -panel to the icon lookup so that this icon does not bleed through into other parts of the UI

The BansheeNotificationArea icon uses the banshee-panel, which is picked up from the ubuntu-mono set. If you enable the Banshee AppIndicator plugin, which I think will be included in Lucid, that icon calls for media-player-banshee-panel. So if mono is not renamed, it pulls the icon from Humanity, which is named media-player-banshee-panel. I'm not sure if this is this intended look.

This bug was filed before the banshee icons were added to the mono icon set, but if a user enabled the AppIndicator there will be mixed icons between Humanity panel icons and mono panel icons. I'm not sure if a change is intended upstream to rename the AppIndicator call for media-player-banshee-panel to banshee-panel. That would probably make the most sense.

Using Humanity banshee-panel icon instead of mono. This is default as of now.

Ken, the naming seems to have been fixed in b-c-e master. AppIndicator now used banshee-panel instead of media-player-banshee-panel.
