I can reproduce this bug every time I go to - http://www.jupiterbroadcasting.com/ It only happens on certain websites. I can play videos on Youtube all day long. When the error occurs their is a white puzzle piece on a black background its has eyes a nose and a frown where the video should be. This has occurred for me in Ubuntu 9.10, 10.04beta 1 beta 2 and RC. I can reproduce this error at this very moment in Ubuntu 10.04RC. Let me know if you need more information on this from me.

I can't reproduce.
do you happen to have the native 64bit flash plugin? or is it with nspluginwrapper and flash from the ubuntu installer?

NegativChad (hacker-qz) wrote :

I'm not running 64bit. I was at the time of reporting this bug. I have since reloaded ubuntu 32bit a dozen times... Ubuntu 9.04, 10.04beta1, 10.04beta2, and 10.04rc all 32bit. I can even reproduce the same error on my desktop and laptop systems. I believe flash was installed through the Adobe Flash PPA (x86-64) in Ubuntu Tweak or Medibuntu PPA. I've also installed Flash Player 10.1 Release Candidate 2 form http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html with out results to my problem so I don't bother installing the RC 2 release any more.

I believe the workaround is to load Firefox for that page once. We will eventually work around the crash in Chromium: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=44377
