Another way to reproduce this error:
* Import a large tree into a new repository (so that there is only 1 revision)
* Create two branches
* Create a lightweight checkout of each branch
* Commit 8 times in one checkout
* Commit once in one checkout - this will trigger an autopack
* While the autopack is still in progress, commit in the other checkout
* One of them will then fail with the "NoSuchFile" error
