Comment 6 for bug 740759

After speaking to Robert about this, it seems some of this is going to be due to just generally high load on that machine and in the data centre, and there are already RTs underway to address that. There probably is also some room for improvement in how this specific code runs, but it's probably not worth pursuing until the general thing is improved.
