Hmm. ok. can you post the versions you are downgrading to?

Another thing i would appreciate you could try would be to get the current
firefox-3.0 packages ... start with a fresh profile (move away $HOME/.mozilla dir
first) and see if directly going to the current 3.5 ones from there would expose
the same issue.
