Bug Description

* Impact

gnome-conrol-centrel segfaults sometime when trying to open in-existing panels (can happen under other desktop with valid names since depending of the OnlyShowIn some panels might not be listed)

* Test case
- call "gnome-control-center invalidname", it shouldn't hit a segfault

it's also worth checking the error tracker reports, they should stop, also on
https://errors.ubuntu.com/problem/73835fe215683e2f5f85df231eb2750a57e96c65

* Regression potential
Check that no panel is missing and that you can open directly subpanel by calling "gnome-control-center <name>

The issue should be fixed in cosmic with the patch from https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/1:3.28.1-0ubuntu3

Accepted gnome-control-center into bionic-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/1:3.28.1-0ubuntu1.18.04.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how to enable and use -proposed.Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from verification-needed-bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed-bionic.     - backport the new upstream "thunderbolt" panel (same patches as fedora
      is using). Also change to not use per panel icons but just the
      settings one, that's the right thing to do and avoid issues when
      some panels like the thunderbolt one don't have a symbolic icon.

The verification of the Stable Release Update for gnome-control-center has completed successfully and the package has now been released to -updates. Subsequently, the Ubuntu Stable Release Updates Team is being unsubscribed and will not receive messages about this bug report. In the event that you encounter a regression using the package from -updates please report a new bug using ubuntu-bug and tag the bug report regression-update so we can easily find any regressions.
