Binary package hint: flashblock

After a firefox update, flashblock no longer works. It appears in the add-on manager, and is enabled, but Flash animations are displayed anyway.

Since the installation of the following flash version (due to a security update from the vendor) flashblock has stopped working and has even introduced some stability issues (or allowed some of adobe's flash player's stability issues to leak through).

    File name: libflashplayer.so
    Shockwave Flash 10.0 r15

As said in other bug reports

I see that upstream released a new version, I think about packaging it , feel free to track and test the version in my ppa ..

Same issue in Jaunty beta.

Raising importance as this makes browsing impossible for most practical uses involving Flash, specifically, any site with menus and embedded news that start playing automatically, which quickly claim 100% usage.

Manually installing Flashblock from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433 works as expected.

Well, I've asked in #ubuntu-bugs and colleagues in QA, the proper way to handle this bug is to actually make it a duplicate of the one in Hardy and nominate it for fixing in both Intrepid and Jaunty, not keep separate open bugs. The "Nominate for release" feature in Landscape takes care of this.

Sorry about the confusion, I'll now clean this up.

So, marking as duplicate of Bug #239151 and nominating that one for fixing in Intrepid too.
