Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-notifier-kde

Currently the desktop file lists the following autostart settings:
X-KDE-autostart-after=panel
X-KDE-autostart-condition=adept_notifierrc:General:Autostart:true

Of which both are outdated because
a) panel doesn't exist any longer in KDE 4
b) adept_notifierrc doesn't exist in >9.04 since adept isn't used anymore

They should be replaced with X-KDE-autostart-phase=2, which causes update-notifier-kde to be started at the very end of the startup sequence.

Quoting the autostart documentation:
   Window manager startup
   Autostart phase 1
   Session restoration
   Autostart phase 2

Also gnome-session complains about the file missing a "Type"-field:

gnome-session[5910]: WARNING: Could not parse desktop file /etc/xdg/autostart/update-notifier-kde.desktop: Key file does not have key 'Type'

Hm, indeed.

Also, the Encoding key is not needed with KDE 4 anymore.

Hernando, please file a new bug for this though. It is an unrelated issue, as obviously I didn't even check the file integrity :D
