This is because Firefox sets an accelerator on one of its menuitems which GTK doesn't consider valid (even though the accelerator works fine when Firefox draws its own menu). The menuitem is hidden by default though anyway, but I'm not sure what to do about this warning (other than changing default accelerators in Firefox to deviate from the upstream defaults, which I'd rather not do)

Changed in globalmenu-extension:
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Triaged

just upgraded to firefox 6 on natty, firefox crashes everytime I click on something on gmail or facebook...
launching firefox from terminal gives me this error :
LIBDBUSMENU-GTK-CRITICAL **: dbusmenu_menuitem_property_set_shortcut: assertion `gtk_accelerator_valid(key, modifier)' failed

this bug seems critical to me.

No, this bug is just a warning. If you're experiencing a crash, then it's totally unrelated to this.

I'm on Ubuntu 12.04 with Firefox 26.0 and I will have this bug.

While running firefox the terminal I get this output:

(firefox:15419): LIBDBUSMENU-GTK-CRITICAL **: dbusmenu_menuitem_property_set_shortcut: assertion `gtk_accelerator_valid(key, modifier)' failed

And the theme switches from black top bar to grey top bar and the text on the inactive tabs become unreadable. I use the default theme.

After: http://i.imgur.com/KxrOQr7.png

I can still start firefox in private or save mode and get the normal black theme

Hey! Today I updated my system (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS) and this bug returned.
Is it possible to find out if the proposed solution would work for this new version of the bug?
Thank you in advance.

Hello,

I have this message on Ubuntu Budgie 19.10 freshky installed + FF74.0

Same if launched in safe mode with no addons.

Same if I don't use any Budgie applets regarding app-menus ( ie. pixel-saver or global-menu )

See https://discourse.ubuntubudgie.org/t/firefox-in-19-10-is-kind-of-slow-to-start/3265

as this bug seems to slow down Firefox starting + tabs management.
